How Do I Review and Accept AI-Generated Changes to a Document?Last updated September 3, 2026 · 2 min read · Tier L1
Short answerWhen you ask AI Chat to revise a document you're already working on (rename a title, restructure a table, etc.), Workspace updates that same file in place rather than creating a new one, and shows a Pending drafts bar so you can review and accept the change before it's final.
Applies to: Foxit Workspace, version 2026.2 and laterWhat does this look like in AI Chat?After asking AI Chat to change a document you're actively working on, you'll see a response confirming what was updated, along with a link back to the file it changed -- and a Pending drafts bar appears above the chat input, naming the file and how many changes it contains.
- Click the Pending drafts bar to expand and review what changed.
- Click Accept All to keep every change, or Reject All to discard them.
Once changes are accepted (or if there's nothing left to review), asking again to "accept" simply confirms the file already reflects the latest saved version -- there's no separate confirmation step needed at that point.
Can I see earlier versions after AI edits a file?Yes -- edited files keep a version history you can look back through, so you're not limited to only the newest saved version.
Can I skip reviewing every change?Yes -- you can preselect how AI-generated changes are applied: Require Approval keeps the Pending drafts review step described above for every change, while Auto Approve applies changes immediately without waiting for you to accept them.
