Short answer

Open Workspace Settings > Context to tell the AI Assistant how you want it to behave across every project (Instructions), and to view or edit what it remembers about you over time (Memory). Both apply account-wide, not just to one project.

Applies to: Foxit Workspace, version 0.1.3 and laterWhere do I manage AI Instructions and Memory?
  1. Open Workspace Settings and select Context from the left-hand settings menu.
  2. The Context page has two parts: an Instructions text box near the top, and a Memory editor further down.

What are Instructions for?

Instructions are short, explicit rules you write yourself to tell the AI how to respond -- for example, "Be concise by default. Ask before making broad product or architecture changes." (shown as the field's placeholder example). Unlike Memory, Instructions are not something the AI writes for you -- you author them directly.

What is Memory, and how is it different from Instructions?

Memory holds durable background and preferences the AI has picked up about you over time. You can edit Memory directly using the built-in rich-text editor (H1/H2/H3, bold/italic, lists, quote block). The editor starts you off with four suggested sections:

Section What goes there
Preferences How you like responses structured, written, and delivered.
Work style Recurring tools, formats, workflows, or collaboration habits.
Durable context Long-term details that should keep influencing future assistance.
Optional -- only if long-lived Stakeholders, recurring priorities, or application-specific conventions -- only when they'll repeatedly matter over time.

Can the AI update my Memory automatically?

Yes, if you allow it. The Allow AI memory updates toggle (on by default) lets the AI update Memory on its own based on your chat history, documents, and connected apps. Turning it off stops automatic updates -- you can still edit Memory manually either way.
