How to Apply for an iD-One Account
Onboarding guide for signers who need to create a new iD-One digital identity
Answer
iD-One is a digital identity issued by TradeLink, backed by a PKI Class 12 certificate from Digi-Sign — the only commercial Recognized Certification Authority under Hong Kong's Electronic Transactions Ordinance (ETO). You need an iD-One account to sign identity-verified documents using the iD-One method in Foxit eSign.

- Frequently Asked Questions
You will be prompted to apply for iD-One when:
- You try to sign a Foxit eSign document that requires identity verification
- You enter your email address and it is not found in the iD-One system
When this happens, the signing screen will show an Apply for iD-One button. Clicking it starts this process.
- A smartphone (iOS or Android) to install the Tradelink Sign app
- A valid Hong Kong ID or passport for identity verification during the application
- The email address you will use as your iD-One registered address
- The activation code and email pre-filled by Foxit eSign (provided automatically when you click Apply)
Step 1: Click "Apply for iD-One" in Foxit eSign
On the signing screen, click Apply for iD-One. You will be redirected to the iD-One application page. Your activation code and registered email are pre-filled — do not change these values.
Step 2: Download the Tradelink Sign app
On the application page, scan the QR code using your phone's camera to download the Tradelink Sign app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). You can also search for "Tradelink Sign" directly in the store.
Step 3: Open Tradelink Sign and enter your activation details
Launch the app and tap Apply for iD-One. Enter the activation code and email address exactly as shown on the application page in Foxit eSign. Both fields are pre-generated and unique to your registration — do not modify them.
Step 4: Complete identity verification in the app
Follow the in-app instructions to complete your ID-Cert Class 12 application. This includes scanning your identification document and completing a liveness check.
Step 5: Wait for approval
Once you submit your application in Tradelink Sign, you will receive a confirmation email. Processing typically takes 1–2 business days. You will be notified by email when your iD-One account is activated.
Step 6: Return to Foxit eSign to sign
Once your iD-One account is active, return to the original signing link in your envelope invitation email. Select iD-One, enter your registered email, and complete the OTP verification to sign.
Already Completed the Application?
If you have already completed the application steps in Tradelink Sign and are waiting for your account to be activated, click the Already completed the application on Tradelink Sign? link on the application page. You will be redirected back to Foxit eSign to continue once your account is active.
You can also check the status of your iD-One application by opening the Tradelink Sign app. A notification will be sent to your registered email when your account is ready.
