How to Get Activation Logs for Windows Editor

Answer

Support for Foxit PDF Editor v11 and v12 has been discontinued as of August 13, 2025. Upgrade to v14 to continue receiving support.

There can be various reasons why activation may fail. When we’re unable to reproduce the issue on our end, we rely on log files to help us investigate further.

Please follow the steps below to collect the activation logs for Foxit PDF Editor:

  1. Navigate to the installation directory of Foxit PDF Editor installation. The default path depends on the installed version of the Editor:
    • For the 32-bit version:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor
    • For the 64-bit version:
      C:\Program Files\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor
Create a new, empty folder named EnableLogging. Note: This folder is only used to trigger log generation. No logs will be saved in it.
  2. Launch Foxit PDF Editor and sign in with your account.
  3. After attempting activation, locate the generated log files at:
    C:\Users\[Your Username]\Desktop\FoxitActivateLog
  4. Please also collect the log file(s) prefixed with cpdf_dll_. The file location varies by version—please refer to the table below for details:
Version of Foxit PDF Editor Location
version 2023 or later %AppData%\Foxit Software\Continuous\Foxit PDF Editor\log
version 13 or later %AppData%\Foxit Software\Classic\Foxit PDF Editor\log
version 12 or earlier %AppData%\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\log

Kindly send us all files from the FoxitActivateLog folder, along with the log file that prefixed with cpdf_dll_, for further analysis. Thank you.
