Foxit officially supports 17 languages in both the PDF Editor and Reader for Windows. These languages have undergone thorough testing to ensure no functional or language display issues.
If users want to use the language in Foxit PDF Editor/Reader that is not included in the license, users may check if the language is available in the Foxit community and install it.
Take Czech language as an example.
Install the language inside the PDF Editor program.
1.Navigate to File > Preferences in your PDF Editor.
2. Select the Language tab and choose the option "Choose languages provided by the Community."
3. Locate and select the Czech language from the list, then click OK.
4. A prompt will appear to download the language files—click OK and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the download process.
5. After the installation is complete, restart PDF Editor/Reader to apply the new language settings.
Change the language via Registry
1.First download the language in .xml format from the Community Language website https://languages.foxit.com/. Ensure that the version of the editor/Reader matches the version of the provided .xml language file.
- To check the version of the Foxit PDF Editor, navigate to Help>About Foxit PDF Editor within the application.
- To check the version of the .xml language file, simply open the file using a text editor, and the version information will be displayed at the top of the file.
2. Place the downloaded mts_lang_cs-CZ.xml language file in the Foxit PDF Editor installation directory:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\Lang\cs-CZ ( create a cs-CZ file）
3. Type "Registry Editor" in the Windows search box and open it. Navigate to the following directory
- Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\Continuous\Preferences\Languages
4. Locate the key "Langid" and modify the corresponding value (Czech is 49106d)
5. Then open the PDF Editor, the lanague will switch to the Czech language.
